With 21 years in retail and 16 years experience in the shoe business, it wasn’t a great risk, 7 years ago for Jackie King to open DÉJÀ in Kensington Gardens, Brighton. An independent Shoe Shop – DÉJÀ sells a full range of fashion shoes and handbags. Kensington Gardens in the North Laines area of Brighton is a hub of activity everyday and has contributed to the success of Jackie’s business. Customers coming from all walks of life, by word and mouth they come from as far as London to buy their favourite shoes. “I think the secret of our success is that our range of shoes cannot normally be purchased all from one shop – we buy from hand picked suppliers, who also supply the higher class shoe shops” says Jackie.
